A huge WELL DONE to Kirk Longman for facilitating such a highly engaging, hands-on and enjoyable taster day on site at the Harmonia (Dementia Care) Village in Dover. Kirk welcomed 10 students from Years 10 & 11 from Northfleet Technical College (via the Construction Youth Trust) to experience a day on a construction site with a hope to inspire them to consider the construction industry as a future career path.

They experienced the trades including bricklaying by building two planters at the entrance to the site (which were later planted with Forget-Me-Nots {the official dementia flower}) and carpentry by upcycling a cable drum that will form part of the permanent landscaping for the village. HMY Architects gave a talk on the design and worked with them to submit their ideas for the future Harmonia logo that will be passed to the Client for consideration.
