COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Update

In order to keep you informed, I would advise you that yesterday (Wednesday) the business received its second unannounced visit to Century House from the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) to monitor our ongoing COVID-19 (Coronavirus) operating procedures and enhanced safety measures.

I am delighted to report that once again the HSE inspector was completely satisfied with our responses to their substantial questioning and comfortable with all the processes and procedures that we have implemented in order to remain operational whilst ensuring safety is never compromised and at the forefront of our actions.

What was highly evident from the visit and the questions posed to us, was the fundamental need to maintain social distancing at all times whilst in the workplace alongside the importance placed upon the wearing of face coverings within communal areas and when manoeuvring around the building, both as simple and yet highly effective essential safety measures.

With this in mind I would like to thank you all for continuing to abide by our enhanced guidance to protect yourselves and your colleagues and to minimise potential risk of spread of the infection. Most notably, and thankfully, anyone passing the inspector during the impromptu visit yesterday was correctly wearing a mask which reflected very positively on the business in implementing this advice in our duty of care to you all. The consequences had this not be the case could have been highly damaging and may have threatened our ability to continue to operate. Therefore, whilst the wearing of a face covering within the workplace has until now been on the basis of a strong recommendation of the Directors, I would like to advise that with immediate effect it is now compulsory at all times and without exception to wear a mask in and around the office or your site, unless evidence of medical exemption is received (and which should be presented to Emily Barnes, HR Manager ASAP). As per our previous advice these can be removed once you are back within your own personal space or at your desk.

I do hope you will fully understand and support us in our decision to enforce this as a mandatory safety measure in the ongoing fight against the pandemic and so that we can remain effective in our operations at this time.

Thank you all once again for your ongoing cooperation and patience.
