covid - 19 Staff Update No 6 - Employment

Good afternoon all,

In line with the recent Jenner Group Policy Notification No.5 as issued a few moments ago to you all as well as to our external stakeholders, regarding the closure of all our live site operations, I confirm that from the 25th March 2020 the company have decided to take the draconian step in order to safeguard everyone’s future employment and security by placing as many employees as possible in an employment status known as Furlough. This is a term used by the government as part of their package of support measures to ensure the financial security of as many businesses as possible during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The term means your employment status will enter a short phase of ‘garden leave’ whereby your job and employment status will be protected, and you will not be required to do anything on behalf of the company whilst you are Furloughed. You will shortly be receiving a letter to this effect.

All employees, whether Furloughed or not will receive 80% of their normal salary from 1st April whilst we continue to manage our way through this crisis. We do not yet know when we will be permitted or able to proceed under normal trading conditions, and this position will remain under review until that time.

In addition, the Directors of Jenner have agreed to take a 50% pay cut, which will correspond at least with the period staff wages are reduced.

I hope you will understand and support the Directors in adopting this position. We all care very much about you all, our amazing employees, and about the company and we have a duty and an obligation to ensure the financial well-being of everyone whilst we protect the business as it enters its 145th year.

If you do have any questions or concerns, I will personally be available to discuss these with you, as will my co-directors or your line manager.

Kind regards

Martin
