Good afternoon everyone,

Once again we find ourselves through another week of lock-down which I hope finds you all remaining safe, well and finding new and enjoyable ways to keep busy. I do hope many of you are keeping in touch with each other and it’s great to see so many getting actively involved in our running challenge and drawing competition to keep our Jenner team spirit alive and show our appreciation to the NHS frontline workers.

It’s certainly been a busy week at Jenner HQ as the Directors and COVID-19 team have worked hard to ensure we are ready to safely return to construction activity, and I am delighted that we are able to do so with a number of sites recommencing on Monday 27th April with our first round of staff being un-furloughed and returning to active duty.

The sites which will open on Monday are:

  • Maidstone Road, Charing

  • Edenbridge Care Home

  • Wateringbury Extra Care

  • Amberstone Road, Hailsham

  • Amberstone Nurseries, Hailsham

  • The Hill, Littlebourne

  • Kings Hill, West Malling

  • Folkestone School for Girls

  • Stelling Minnis Housing

These sites have been thoroughly assessed and are able to reopen in terms of safety, subcontractor availability and sufficient supply of materials. More will follow on 4th May and we will write to notify you of these next week.

Unless you have been notified that you are required to return to work please continue to sit tight and stay safe at home as the furlough scheme continues to protect your employment with us, as we slowly return to productivity with sites reopening in a phased manner. This is imperative to ensure we can do so as safely as possible.

I do hope you will appreciate that the time is now right for us to begin to return and will continue to support us in our decision to do so, but if you do have any questions then please do contact me or one of my co-Directors who I hope will be able to reassure you and allay any concerns you may have. Once again I would like to reiterate that the safety of everyone remains our absolute priority and we will continue to do everything within our powers to ensure those working on our behalf are kept safe and well.

To update you on some of our activities we received 20 entries for our drawing competition with the winners to be announced next week. It was great to see so many getting involved and the creative, colourful designs will make a delightful new homepage for our website, whilst the battle against the coronavirus pandemic continues and presents a really nice way that we, as a team, can show our appreciation for the NHS. More to follow next week!

Our ‘Team Jenner run 1000 miles for the NHS’ ♥🌈💙 is also off to a flying start with 248.7miles logged in our first week of lock-down raising £945.00 for NHS Charities. We’ve still got a long way to go to reach our target, so if you haven’t got involved and wish to contribute to the mileage racked up it’s not too late! Every mile counts so don’t be shy and it’s a great way to keep active and busy.

Hopefully you will agree this feels like we are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel but don’t lose sight of the need to keep safe, stay at home and continue to follow government guidelines.

Have a great weekend.

Kind regards

Martin
