Good afternoon everyone,
Friday seems to come around very quickly and I do hope the continued weeks of lock-down are passing at a bearable speed for you all and that you continue to remain safe, well and active.
Following our first sites recommencing on Monday I am pleased to report that this has gone as smoothly as we had hoped, with the teams establishing safe site set-ups and ensuring all necessary signage etc is in place ready for the phased return of our supply-chain. We know this is going to be a very gradual process to return to desired levels of productivity, but we must operate in this manner to ensure we establish enhanced safety culture incorporating our new rules and procedures.
Thanks to the steady supply of materials and subcontractors and most importantly the enthusiasm of our teams returning to work, we can now open the remainder of our sites on Monday 4th May (with one exception Valley Park Sports Hall which we hope to reopen the following week) with our next round of staff being un-furloughed to enable this, and we warmly welcome them back.
The additional sites which will reopen as of Monday are:
Edenbridge Care Home
Wateringbury Extra Care
Urban Sports Park
Folkestone Seafront Phase 1
Canterbury Medical Centre
Tonbridge Medical Centre
Ivy Court Surgery
William Muge and Snelgrove
Jennison Building, University of Kent
William Harvey Hospital Fire Protection Works
Rye Day Care Centre
Beaver Road, Ashford
Beech Hurst Care Home, Haywards Heath
By way of reminder, if you have not been officially notified that you are required back to work please remain safe at home whilst we continue to return to full productivity.
For those staff who are normally based in the office and have been un-furloughed, the office will be open but we would strongly urge that unless it is imperative for you to attend the office to carry out your usual role, then please do try and work from home to reduce any risk to yourself or others. Our receptionist Katie will continue to respond to calls remotely at this time.
The severity of the current situation was brought home to us earlier this week with the tragic news of the passing of one of our Employer’s Agents John Green from Calford Seaden, who some of you may have worked with in the past, due to the Coronavirus. Our thoughts are with John’s family and colleagues at this sad time.
As always the Directors are on hand to address any concerns, questions or anxieties you may have. Once again I would like to reiterate that the safety of everyone remains our absolute priority and we will continue to do everything within our powers to ensure those working on our behalf are kept safe and well.
Over the past week our team of runners have been busy logging more miles towards our ‘Team Jenner run 1000 miles for the NHS’ ♥🌈💙 challenge with an impressive 518.38 miles after our second week of lock-down raising £1170 for NHS Charities. Thank you to all our new contributors who have pitched in with the miles and it’s still not too late if you would like to join the team (Geoff!) Every mile counts and remember it’s not about speed or distance but being part of the team in true Jenner style!
If you really aren’t a runner perhaps you may consider supporting our challenge with a small donation to our fundraising instead:www.justgiving.com/fundraising/teamjennergorunning
We await to hear what guidance is issued next Thursday 7th May at the expiry of the second imposed lock-down period, so in the meantime please do remain patient and safe in the knowledge that your efforts are vital to protect the NHS, save lives and overcome the pandemic.
Wishing you all an enjoyable weekend.
Kind regards
Martin
