I appreciate I have already written to you once this week so with that firmly in mind I promise to keep today’s update fairly brief. It has been a pleasure to welcome you all back to work and catch-up with many of you personally, and I do hope you have found the return pleasurable and are gradually acclimatising into some form of routine. It is always a bit of a shock to the system post-Christmas following a fortnight of indulgence, and I would imagine that Monday’s announcement and ongoing restrictions have made this a little harder to bear.

The message that I truly wish to send out tonight is one of gratitude and praise to you all on behalf of my Co-Directors for the manner in which you have conducted yourselves on the return this week in light of the further directive that we have had to impose upon you all in operating your sites and attending the office. Each and every one of you has adopted and adhered to our further enhanced measures incredibly swiftly in wearing your masks in communal areas which, whilst we have become accustomed to these as part of our everyday routine, does feel a little unnatural in the office environment, so I thank you all for your cooperation and recognition of the importance of this and hope you have all now received your additional masks to keep you protected. I would also like to thank those who have returned to remote working in order to reduce numbers within the main office at any one time, as again this will be critical in reducing unnecessary contact and minimising the risk of spread of the infection. Latest guidance has been released today from the Construction Leadership Council (Version 7) and this has been distributed to all sites for adoption and is available to view within the COVID-19 section of the website for all others who are interested to read this. The office will be fogged again tonight as a precaution and I do hope you will recognise that we really do have everyone’s wellbeing at heart and will do everything within our power to keep you all safe in our duty of care to you all.

I’ll be back in touch next Friday when I will look at project progress across our sites and may even address the ‘B’ word and share my views on what BREXIT means to us going forwards, if only as a welcome and brief reprieve from COVID-19 related updates. Whilst I had envisaged I would not need to be writing to you quite so often by this point now we have entered a New Year, with the pandemic still very much at large and controlling how we can operate and reducing interaction amongst you all I feel increased communication remains beneficial and much of the positive feedback I have received would support this.

Please do keep sending any project or people focused news to the Front-of-House team for inclusion in future updates and to share some positivity with your colleagues throughout Team Jenner. We certainly need this right now.

That’s all from me for this evening other than to wish you all a pleasant and relaxing weekend ahead. I am sure, like me, you are all ready for it.

Well done to you all once again and please do stay vigilant to keep safe and well.
