Good afternoon to you all.
As another month draws to a close and we welcome in July, the Summer seems to have been temporarily delayed as we endure a spell of rather inclement weather, so I do hope that spirits remain high across the team and everyone continues to keep safe and well in the ongoing pursuit against the virus, which shows little evidence of diminishing any time soon.
Undoubtedly the news that restrictions would not be eased completely earlier this month, whilst no great surprise, was rather disappointing, but we must remain hopeful as we edge towards the 70% population milestone of double-vaccinations, which health advisors promise to be the vital statistic that could fully unlock our future freedom. Until then we must continue to enjoy the many elements of life that have returned to us and remain optimistic for the future whilst alert to the continued risk of infection.
Whist I do not wish to focus on COVID-19 for too long I would just like to respectfully remind you all that we continue to abide by the guidance set out to us by the Construction Leadership Council (CLC) to keep all our sites as safe as possible, and which clearly states that during periods of prolonged activity in close proximity to others and/or in confined unventilated spaces that face coverings remain essential and must be worn. Please do adhere to this ruling for your safety and that of your colleagues, and continue to exercise a degree of caution in all aspects of your daily routine.
Whilst COVID-19 pessimism still lingers, this month’s newsletter certainly illustrates that we have a huge amount to celebrate with project awards and completions and many new faces joining the Jenner team, and I hope this will serve as a clear statement to you all that we remain strong and well-placed as a business with a formidable team, who together will overcome the challenges we face ahead, and undoubtedly emerge more resilient and with a greater desire to succeed.
It would be remiss of me to end this month’s update without mention of the spectacular win over Germany on Tuesday night in the Euro’s and which was unquestionably a game of two halves. Be you a Football fanatic, enthusiastically patriotic or neither, I am sure you cannot fail to be lifted by the result and we can now look forward to an exciting quarter final match against Ukraine at the weekend. Whether or not it’s ‘coming home’, let us all enjoy a welcome reprieve from the current state of affairs and a national surge in euphoria and positivity.
That’s all from me, other than to leave you to digest the updates below at your leisure and of course to wish you a successful, productive and safe month ahead.
Kind regards Martin Sandall
