Tomorrow morning (Wednesday 8th June) two members of Team Jenner, Simon Ward - our Project Manager at The Laurels Littlebourne, and Quantity Surveyor Ben Pollard will be setting off on a journey that will see them cover over 2500 miles. Driving to the border of Ukraine, they will be part of a convoy, taking a range of essential items to ensure they reach those who need them most.

Jenner are incredibly proud to support their heroic efforts, through the provision of the van and fuel that will help Simon and Ben to fulfil their challenge in helping others; making a huge difference to the lives of those living amidst unimaginable circumstances. Undoubtedly, we are all acutely aware of the situation in Ukraine but most of us feel limited in what we can do to help, and whilst there are many charities doing brilliant work, many of you probably wonder what percentage of your donation actually goes directly to the people on the frontline. Simon and Ben’s mission is to ensure the correct aid is delivered exactly where it is needed.

An old school friend of Simon’s (the landlord of the Three Mariners in Hythe) started the appeal and encouraged Simon to get involved, with Ben quickly keen to support. Naturally the success of the mission is hugely reliant on the generosity of others, as well as support from local businesses to provide the vehicles, channel crossings and fuel, so that all personal donations can be used to purchase the items required. The overall aim is to raise a staggering £30k and I am sure you will agree, the efforts of all participating is incredibly humbling and most admirable. One of the many items that they will be taking are rucksacks, specifically packed with requested essentials for both women and children and they will be visiting multiple ‘Displacement Camps’ and helping wherever they can. This may include travelling to supermarkets in Poland to get further essential supplies.

Whilst there are always many charitable requests circulating, your support would be hugely appreciated by both Simon and Ben and will make a huge difference to the lives of others. Any size of donation would be warmly welcomed and it would be great if we as a team could show our pride in them both in undertaking such a remarkable and selfless challenge. If you would like to donate you can do so via the link below, which is safe and secure, and please do add the comment “Safe Trip Simon & Ben”, or a supportive message to keep them motivated along the way. The page also tells you lots more about the mission, so please do take a moment to read:

They will endeavour to update us (via twitter) as they progress on their epic journey and you can follow their Facebook page too - https://www.facebook.com/groups/652567946009106/posts/676372293628671/

I am sure you will join me in wishing them both lots of luck for a safe journey.

Many thanks, on behalf of Simon and Ben, in anticipation of your support.

Warmest regards

Aimee
